National Webinar

The National Webinar on topic "Current trends in information Technology" was Conducted by Ignite Innovations in Information Technology (student-Teachers Cell). The webinar was conducted online through Google Meet platform. The session was handled by Mr. Karthik M G on 14th June 2021 at 10:00 am. The main objective is to help students to grab knowledge about current trends in information Technology. Various events ,innovative talk ,workshops from eminent personalities were organized by IIIT for the betterment of students. The program was successful in helping students to enhance their academic status and developing their soft skills which are essential to a good start to their higher studies and career.The even was coordinated by Smt.Salu Lekshman,AP in IT.

1.CSI STUDENT CHAPTER

University College of Engineering Kariavattom has constituted a CSI students' chapter in collaboration with two other departments in University of Kerala namely Department of Computer Science and Department of Computational biology and bioinformatics. It was the first in its method of implementation and the students can be benefited from all the experts in these departments and their activities. Execom committee formed under Student branch counsellor Diana Mathew, Assistant Professor in IT, UCEK. The chapter was inaugurated on 07/08/2021 by Dr. Shirley Elizabeth, Chairperson of CSI Trivandrum Chapter in the presence of Dr. Bisharathu Beevi (Principal, UCEK), Dr. Achuthsankar S Nair( HoD, DCB), Dr. Noorul Mubarak (HoD, DCS), Dr. Vinodchandra S S and other eminent faculty, students and members of CSI among all the departments. Our chapter organizes a National Student Tech Talk in collaboration with Trivandrum Chapter on 19/08/2021.

1.Workshop on machine Learning

Information Technology department in association with Department of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Kariavattom organized a five days hands-on workshop in “Machine Learning” from Dec 2 to Dec 6, 2019. The workshop was mentored by Dr. Ram Prasad K, Director of Vision Cog R&D and inaugurated by Dr. Achuthsankar S Nair.

2.Student Empowerment Program

As part of the Student Empowerment Program (SEP), Information Technology department conducted a one-day hands-on workshop in “Introduction to Linux & Python Programming” for IT students on Nov 11, 2019. The workshop was mentored by Diana Mathew, AP in IT, UCEK.

IT department conducted student development programme on topic "Introduction to Linux and Phython" on Nov 11 2019 for first year and final year students

2.Short term Training Programme on Cloud Computing

University college of Engineering conducted a Short Term Training Programme on “Cloud Computing and its Applications in Engineering” sponsored by Alumni Association, PTA and Training and Placement cell. With the help of Electronics and communication Department, Information Technology and Computer Science Department initiated and organised this event a grant success. This event was very effective in empowering the faculties of various Engineering Colleges with the recent Cloud Computing technology.
